These frequently asked questions from Star House Moving LLC in Grant, NE will provide you with a great deal of information about moving homes and buildings.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO BEFORE CONTACTING YOU?

You, the owner, are responsible for wire bill charges from the telephone or electric company. You must measure the width, overhang, length, and height of your house. Your telephone and electric company will need these measurements and your planned route to determine your wire bill. You will also have to pay for moving all cable TV, telephone, and electrical wires, traffic signals, and any other obstacles to clear the house and moving route.

WHAT ARE YOU RESPONSIBLE FOR?

We the movers carry full cargo and liability insurance on the structure and moving operation. We are NOT responsible for theft or incidental damage to contents in the home during travel. We are responsible for obtaining State, County, and City permits.

WHAT ABOUT EVERYTHING UNDER MY HOUSE?

Everything in the basement and garage must be removed by you the homeowner. Furnace pipe, plumbing, duct work, and everything else hanging below the floor joists must be removed.

WHAT ABOUT TREES AND SIGNS?

Trees must be trimmed or removed. This is the owner's responsibility and should be done before the house is moved. Trees may have to be trimmed more on moving day. Mail boxes and signs will be removed and reset as needed by the mover.

DO YOU FIND ME A NEW LOCATION?

No, finding a suitable foundation for your home is your responsibility. There must be block outs (24" wide x 24" deep) located in the foundation, and a center support will be provided. You can call us for proper placement. If the home is to be set on a crawl space, it will have to have a stem wall to yield 36" of vertical clearance.
